Jonah Hill Describes His Experience At Kanye’s Wyoming Listening Party

Jonah Hill stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week to promote his upcoming film Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot. Though the film is getting good reviews, Hill had other, arguably more important things to discuss with Kimmel. Hill went viral recently after being spotted at Kanye West's Wyoming listening party for his new album ye. Hill broke it all down, from how he scored an invite to the exclusive event to what it was really like at the event.

Hill revealed he was actually in a meeting with legendary movie producer Scott Rudin when the invite arrived in his email. The 34-year-old actor left the important meeting to head to a private airport to be flown to Wyoming for the listening party with his friend Eli. "In the airport, it's like us and 2 Chainz and Fabolous," Hill said. "It was really an epic, legendary thing."

Hill also revealed that Kanye put them all up in an extremely fancy hotel. "We get to the hotel and it's the nicest hotel you've ever seen, but it's, like, mad couples on their honeymoons. So it's like couples on their honeymoon and then Titty Boi and Charlamagne. It was the craziest s**t."

The listening party came on the heels of Kanye's many controversial comments leading up to the release of his album. Hill, though, was unaware of the controversy.

I didn’t realize it was controversial to go support Kanye at that time. Like, my sister didn’t speak to me for a week because he’d worn a MAGA hat and shit. And to me, it just felt like a bad Andy Kaufman swing and a miss. Like, I don’t bail on people right away. People fuck up and do stupid stuff. You shouldn’t bail on everybody right away. This guy’s given me so much. He’s my guy.

Hill described the listening party as "amazing" and "a beautiful experience," as well as pointing out how happy Kanye seemed that night. "They had loud speakers and everyone was moshing and going crazy."

It was such a profound night for Hill, he told Kimmel that was actually "shook." According to Hill, that's not a common occurrence for the A List actor. One of the highlights of the night? Meeting Nas. "For me, Illmatic is, like, The White Album," Hill said. "To be in the same space as Nas still blows my mind."

When Kimmel pointed out that it seems like Hill is living a very interesting life, the actor concluded the interview a pretty poignant note. "I'm just trying to be happy, be around people I love, and make things from my heart."
