Spring Concert Series: Blue Mama Blues Band

Blue Mama Blues Band has been trailblazing since 2016, in the Bay County area, with blues grooves from old to new. Comprised of a mix of old school swingin' blues, to rockin' boogie, the band will take you through a journey of blues history, playing songs from the greats such as John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, Johnny Winter, Gary Clark Jr., and Lucinda Williams.

Melissa Califano-Gruzs, fronts the band with vocals and guitar. Having won "Best Female Blues Vocalist" in 2015 with her band Blues Edition, from the Inland Empire Blues Society in Washington State, she then moved to Florida in 2016, and put together Blue Mama Blues Band. She has performed in many areas such as Seattle and Las Vegas, and has played with some of the greatest musicians in blues.

Experienced and talented partners in the band are: Aaron Bateman, the lead guitarist, Ron Stanley is the bassman, and Scott Belisle is on drums. All members lend to the sound, which is exclusive to Blue Mama Blues Band.
