Florida's Ban On Gender-Affirming Care For Minors Takes Effect Thursday

Florida's ban on gender-affirming medical care for transgender minors takes effect Thursday. Advocate Erin Grey says this is a horrible day for anyone who feels they were not born in the right body. The ban on puberty blockers and surgeries only applies to new patients under eighteen, anyone who's already being treated can be grandfathered in and continue. Doctors who violate the ban risk disciplinary action, resulting in fines and or revoked licenses. The Southern Legal Counsel is filing a federal lawsuit challenging the restrictions.
