The 2023 Florida Legislative Session Set To End Friday

The controversial 2023 Florida Legislative session expected to end Friday. House Speaker Paul Renner says he's proud of all the bills they've passed like the six-week abortion ban, transgender health care, affordable housing, school vouchers and permitless carry. The biggest obstacle lawmakers face this week is passing a balanced budget as required by the State Constitution. Governor Ron DeSantis is recommending a one-hundred-fourteen-billion-dollar budget which must be ready tonight or tomorrow at the latest. Florida has a seventy-two-hour “cooling off” period, requiring the budget be in lawmakers’ hands for three days before a final vote.
