Just after the stroke of midnight, lobster lovers can hit the waters and begin diving for the tasty crustaceans.

"The bag limit during mini-season is 6 per person. In Biscayne National Park and Monroe County it's 12 and the rest of the waters of the state of Florida, " said Florida Fish and Wildlife Captain Rafael Almagro. Lobsters may only be caught by hand or with tickle sticks. Spearing is illegal, and lobsters must be measured in the water coming in with a main body of at least three inches.

Boaters are reminded to stay at least 300 feet away from dive flags in open waters and 100 feet in narrow channels.

All divers must have saltwater fishing licenses and lobster permits.
