Many students across Florida return to school on Monday and law enforcement is reminding drivers to watch out for school zones, buses and kids walking to and from their schools.

"We want to make sure that kids are getting to school safely and they're also leaving school safely and arriving home."

Boynton Beach Police traffic homicide investigator Terrence Paramore is just one of many officers who will be out in 'full force' during the first week back to school.

He tells CBS 12 News that drivers need to pay close attention to the flashing lights in those school zones as speeding through one means fines are doubled.

And he adds, in school zones there are no warnings.

Paramore also reminds drivers to watch out for school buses. Drivers who blow past an extended stop arm can face points on their license and a $371 fine.
