Megan Moroney cleared up her rumored romance with Riley Green after the two country stars were spotted vacationing in the Caribbean at the same time.
Moroney, 27, hailed a “Gen Z Country Queen” in Rolling Stone’s new cover story for the publication’s Future of Music series, revealed she’s been single for about a year. The Georgia-born country hitmaker called it quits with someone she refers to as “a regular finance dude” early last year, and believes “I’ve always had bad taste in men.”
So, was Moroney on vacation with Green?
No, she told Rolling Stone. Moroney said in her interview that the “Worst Way” crooner, 36, “was individually on his vacation (in St. Barts) with his friends,” and it was simply a coincidence that both artists traveled there at the same time. “Just because we’re hanging out doesn’t mean we’re romantically dating. You know what I mean?” Though, she added: “I don’t blame them [internet sleuths] for doing some FBI research.”
Green also confirmed in a recent podcast conversation that he’s “single.”
Throughout her Rolling Stone interview, Moroney also spoke about “overstimulation” at a beloved Buc-ee’s gas station and convenience store in Tennessee, the trajectory of her rapidly-rising career, looking up to artists like Kacey Musgraves and Miranda Lambert, her response to gaining a newfound loyalty of longtime Carrie Underwood fans, touring with Kenny Chesney and much more. The Am I Okay? (I’ll Be Fine) star said she’s “speechless” and “will need several business days to recover” from the cover story. Find Moroney’s full Rolling Stone interview here.
