Lainey Wilson embraces the “messy, imperfect, chaotic” moments in life with her newest single, “Phone, Keys, Wallet.”

The reigning Country Music Association entertainer of the Year released her newest song, featuring John Mayer on guitar, on Thursday (June 4). Wilson teamed up with Jon Decious, Dan Pellarin, Dallas Wilson, Trannie Anderson and Summer Overstreet to write “Phone, Keys, Wallet” during the final leg of her headlining “Whirlwind Tour.” She said the song “is about finding somebody who loves you for every messy, imperfect, chaotic version of yourself.”

“I feel like a tornado with boots on half the time, and this song is really about finding somebody who’s okay with that chaos and chooses to love you through it anyway.”

“I’ve been working on some new music,” Wilson said in a clip shared by iHeartRadio’s Phoenix, Arizona-based country station, KNIX. “(We’ve) just been locking it down, and I am so excited about some of the stuff that we have been working on. …In my personal life right now, I feel like I’m kind of like turning the page into another chapter, and that’s what this feels like. And I think when I’m living life always in a hurry, just like all y’all, too, trying to get to where you goin’. And the last song I put out was one called ‘Can’t Sit Still,’ and honestly, this new song that I’m about to play y’all is kind of in the same vein of how I live my life. I feel like I’m always running out the door looking for my phone, my keys, my wallet, and that’s what the song is called, ‘Phone, Keys, Wallet.’ It’s about all the important things in your life. And for me, that’s Jesus, Jones, mama, my phone, keys, wallet, and you. And so, I want to play it for y’all.”

Wilson, 34, seemingly hinted at “Phone, Keys, Wallet” on the red carpet at the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards. She told PEOPLE, “we got a bunch of stuff cooking up right now, and it’s good. As long as I got my phone, my keys, my wallet, my man, I feel like those are the things that keep me writing and w got something up our sleeve.” Shortly after the ACM Awards, Wilson teased “Phone, Keys, Wallet” with an attention-grabbing billboard in Nashville, Tennessee. The billboard stated, “text ‘LOST’ to (615)240-2342 to help her find them.” Those who text the number will receive a link to a 25-second audio sneak peek of the unreleased “warm, mid-tempo love song.”
