Hannah Harper ā€œseriously can’t waitā€ to release a new song at the end of the week.

Harper, 26, shared a sneak peek of ā€œMarried Into This Townā€ on TikTok and Instagram on Tuesday (July 7). She sings: ā€œI left behind those city streets/ For a small town boy and his grandma’s ring/ White picket fence and a front porch swing/Ā Hand-me-down couch and a newfound dream/ I wasn’t born with roots in the ground/Ā But I brought ā€˜em with me and plan to lay ā€˜em down/ Ain’t got a money tree growing in the yard/ But there’s a dollar store right down the street/ I just wanna be anywhere you are/ Hands in the dirt, planting new seeds/ Some people can’t wait to get out/ Oh, but I married into this town/ Oh, but I married into this town.ā€

Earlier this year, Harper, a mother of three from Willow Springs, Missouri, became the first female country artist to win American Idol since Carrie Underwood’s career-launching victory in 2005. Underwood returned to Idol as a judge last year, two decades after she competed on the show. The eight-time Grammy winner cried during Harper’s audition with a vulnerable original song that went viral. Harper performed ā€œString Cheese,ā€ and earned praise from Underwood and her fellow judges, Luke BryanĀ andĀ Lionel Richie. Bryan said Harper’s voice reminded him of Kacey Musgraves,Ā Alison Krauss,Ā Dolly PartonĀ and others.

ā€œMarried Into This Townā€ will arrive on Friday (July 10).
