The Oak Ridge Boys celebrated the 15th anniversary of an unforgettable milestone on a historic stage in Nashville, Tennessee.
On this day in 2011, the legendary group was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry. A clip of that milestone moment appears on the Grand Ole Opry’s Instagram account on Thursday (August 6), one day after The Oak Ridge Boys performed on the storied stage.
“We had so much fun celebrating [The Oak Ridge Boys] last night in honor of their 15th Anniversary! If you missed it, they'll be back in the circle on August 14th and 15th💫,” the caption reads. The Opry added, “We miss you, Joe 🤍” Longtime Oak Ridge Boys member Joe Bonsall died in July 2024. He was 76. Bonsall was inducted into the Opry in 2011 alongside bandmates William Lee Golden, Richard Sterban and Duane Allen. Fellow Grand Ole Opry member Little Jimmy Dickens inducted the legendary group. The quartet currently includes Allen, Golden, Sterban and Ben James, who joined The Oak Ridge Boys after Bonsall’s retirement and passing.
The Oak Ridge Boys performed at the Grand Ole Opry on Wednesday evening (August 5), along with Russell Dickerson, Filmore, Mae Estes, Collin Raye, T. Graham Brown and Mike James in the lineup. Watch the throwback clip from the band’s Opry induction here:
