The Bobby Bones Show revisited its OG Time Marches On segment where everyone admits the things that make them feel older.
Bobby mostly reads from an iPad with enlarged text because of his vision, he recently realized another sign of aging had crept into his routine. He bought a camping-style headlamp so he could read physical books in dim lighting, especially while relaxing in the bath or in bed. Amy immediately asked if it was a special reading light, but Bobby clarified it was a bright headlamp similar to something a miner or camper would wear. Bobby admitted the light illuminates the entire room and annoys his wife when he reads in bed. He avoided using his iPad in the bath because he is worried about dropping it in the water, so the headlamp became his solution for reading paper books. Amy experiences the same thing in dark restaurants and often uses her phone flashlight to read menus. Bobby admitted he had started doing that too.
Eddie shared his own aging realization, he now keeps his eyeglasses with him constantly instead of occasionally storing them in his backpack. When Bobby asked Amy if she had any examples of her own, the show noted that she actually seems younger lately. Amy struggled to think of an example, which led to Bobby thinking that fading memory itself might be the sign of aging. Lunchbox revealed that he has officially become a “shirt-on-at-the-pool” person. During the show's Top Shelf Country Cruise, he wore a long-sleeve swim shirt to protect himself from the sun and plans to continue doing it throughout pool season. Bobby admitted his own reason for wearing a shirt at the pool was less about sun protection and more about embarrassment. Lunchbox noted that aging and insecurity all blend together eventually.
