The Super Bowl Halftime Pepsi Promo Just Released

This gave me chills. The Super Bowl is in L.A. this year and who better to represent the sound of L.A. than Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Mary J., And Kendrick Lamar.

Pepsi just released the trailer for the Halftime show directed by filmmaker F. Gary Gray, “The Call” features Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar for an epic Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show trailer. Scored by Adam Blackstone, “The Call” features a musical compilation of iconic tracks “Rap God,” “The Next Episode,” “Family Affair,” “HUMBLE.,” “Still D.R.E.,” and “California Love.”

WOW! Just WOW! I can't wait to see how they fit these monsters of rap into 10 mins. EPIC!

Here are some fun facts about the SB Halftime show (

  1. Performers don't get paid. Matter of fact, Dr. Dre put up a couple of million of his own money to create this years performance.
  2. Michael Jackson's 1993 Super Bowl performance was the first time network ratings went up during halftime.
  3. Janet Jackson" was the most searched term, event, and image on the Internet for 2 years following "nipplegate". The FCC fined CBS a record $550,000. It was later appealed and voided.
  4. The most-watched halftime show in history was Madonna in 2012. Only 111 million people watched the game, but 114 million viewers tuned in just for the Queen of Pop. Beyonce was the second most watched.
  5. Most performances used tracked music and lip-synch it on stage. The Weeknd insisted he do the entire thing live.
  6. The entire performance is taped prior to the actual show, in case any major issues happen. Then producers can cut to the pre-recorded show flawlessly. Most of the viewing audience wouldn't even be able to tell.
