President Biden hosted the World Champion Braves this morning in D.C.

Max Fried, shortstop Dansby Swanson and third baseman Austin Riley were among those who celebrated their 2021 World Series Championship with President Biden at the White House on Monday morning. The President was even handed his own Braves Jersey with his name on the back by Manager Brian Snitker.

President Joe Biden told the team that the Atlanta Braves will be "forever known as the upset kings of October" , as no one expected their 2021 World Series win. During the victory celebration Biden also said the series was an "unstoppable, joyful run" and said it was one of "history's greatest turnarounds."

The President even talked about the legacy and fight for racial equality by the most famous person to don the Braves uniform in history Hank Aaron. "This team is defined by the courage of Hank Aaron," Biden said.

The Braves sit looking at another chance at a ring, being just 1 1/2 games out of first behind The Mets.

Biden didn't bring up his opinion on the teams name during the meeting. However, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters, “He has consistently emphasized that all people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. We should listen to Native American and indigenous people who are the most impacted by this.”

Although, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred said "the Native American community in the Atlanta region was “wholly supportive of the Braves program, including the chop,” during their World Series run last year.

I would hate seeing the Braves have to change names with such a legacy that the team holds in Major League Baseball.

Governor Kemp responded on twitter saying, "The @Braves should always be the Atlanta Braves. Go Braves and Keep Choppin’!"
